    Image Re-Projection

    on March 7th, 2010, by ideasman42

Its been a while since we had a development post and while we’re always busy with blender much of it is work in progress.

Most of my time is spent on physics and bug fixes at the moment but seeing as it was my birthday on Friday, I took some time to work on something more fun :D. Enjoy!

    – Campbell

    Update:

    • Image editor can be selected in the user preferences ‘File’ section.
    • Save as PNG rather then TARGA to workaround reported problem with adobe photoshop not saving alpha.
    • Render to an off-screen buffer rather then grabbing the view, removes view text and allows images editing images bigger then the view.
    • Added option to capture high resolution images rather then using the viewport size.

Sintel Face Rig (Yet Again!) and Neck

on March 4th, 2010, by nathan

I know you all are probably sick of my posts. Rigging is so boring, after all. No one wants to hear me talk about it. So I’ll keep this short.

    Last day at the institute

on March 4th, 2010, by jsguillemette

Hey community! How are you all? 🙂

Well my journey at the institute comes to an end.  I was suppose to stay here up until the end of the projects, but stuff came up (i.e. Life and job!) which I can’t put aside! And so, I am leaving tomorrow afternoon to go back in the cold winter of Montreal, Canada.

And, for the people that were on IRC and the live stream during the sprint or the people who read the ‘rumours’ on the intertubes, no Ton didn’t fire me 😛  Back during the sprint me and Ton were just joking about my departure, because hey, it’s better to laugh about it than to cry!

New Durian team member: Beorn Leonard

on March 1st, 2010, by Ton

More power in the animation department: Beorn started today as character animator. He was already living in Amsterdam, so it was an easy decision to add him during the final months. Beorn has been doing a course at Animation Mentor (using Blender) and already proved to be a very fast and skilled character animator.

Beorn is born Australian, and since recently with British nationality too. More euro power! 😉

    -Ton-

BTW 1: On the picture, Beorn, Campbell’s ever leak bicycle, and whiteboard with secret instructions.

BTW 2: I’ve already seen so much cool stuff here in the studio… but the artists don’t like to share it yet! Just wait a bit, they are making it really awesome!
