    Animation done, sort of

on June 24th, 2010, by William

    Hi Community,

Here’s an update from the animators. Things in the animation team are winding down these days as we run out of shots to do. In terms of character animation there’s only one, maybe two, shots left to do – most of us have moved to other tasks, such as making final tweaks, and doing non-character based animation. There’s still a lot of rocks, hair and particles that need to be moving, but even so this milestone is a significant one for us. Read the rest of this entry »

    Hi,

Here you ‘ll find a mix of studies (  al.chemy , mypaint, gimp-painter or … watercolor ) … And as you suggested me last post ( in comments ), I created them in a friendly resolution and size for using them as wallpaper. More soon !

    Render previews

on June 13th, 2010, by Ton

Just digged this up today from the render farm, a mix of test renders, semi-finals and final-finals. All graphics is potentially being updated still, and certainly will be color graded yet. Thanks to our powerful JUSTACLUSTER™ there’s a lot of re-rendering going on, its a great to be able to tweak so much on the render/lighting stage! Just too bad we are using raytracing so much… render times for final quality go to an hour per 2k frame in several cases. Brecht will look into speedups though!

Anyway, enjoy the graphics, and for those who love to write crits, remember: it ain’t done until the fat lady sings!

    Greetings from the audio trenches!

on June 8th, 2010, by jan

Hey there! Jan Morgenstern here. I’m responsible for the scoring, sound design, and re-recording mix of Sintel, and I just realized that I’ve been cowardly ducking any blogging duties that might have arised ever since I started working on this project. Clearly, I’m due. For my blog inauguration, I’ve chosen the proven subject of “what am I doing here anyway”.

    Concept art Speedpainting

on June 8th, 2010, by Deevad

Hello, I kept a lot of concept-art hidden since the pre-production in autumn to maintain few secrets and surprises about environments and creatures you will meet on the final movie.

But I realized  -after the launching on Internet of the trailer- that few concept-art are not ‘top-secret’ anymore. So, it’s now the perfect time to reveal old ‘new’ concept-art. I will show more in few weeks.
