    Cartoon of the team !

on September 2nd, 2009, by Deevad

    final-cartoon-team-durian-colors-all

During the preproduction workshop ( last week )Β  I started at the restaurant on evening some little cartoons of the Durian team ( black and white on paper )Β  ; and cause I very liked to work on , I scan them and colorise them with Gimp instead of doing some concept art. ( If some of you are interrested in the technics I use to get this result let me know on the comments ; I can probably write a blog entry with this classical comics workflow ).Note the design of the tee-shirts ; now we must print some “Durian T-shirt” ; and why not on the Blender e-shop ?

Today we went to Cineco with Ton and Colin ( those who follow our Identi.ca or Twitter already know it ) to watch B.B.B in a audio studio with pure ThX Dolby Digital cinema sound ; it was a really good experience, and we enjoyed a lot to talk with them ; very passionate by their work.

Oh and we are happy here cause the money-metter display today a beautifull over 1000 paid πŸ™‚

    Thanks !

    – David

“I started at the restaurant”. Haha, you really do draw all the time don’t you. I don’t know these people well so can’t say if you got them nailed or not, but from the comments here I suspect you did.
In any case, you should really consider selling this on a t-shirt or similar!

Btw David; you find the OpenRaster GIMP plug-in I made useful for integration with MyPaint. http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/create/2009-September/002040.html

@blenderguy2008 : Yep, at restaurant first evening I turned around faces to checks some proportions first. But those little character came later.

@r2: I promised another thing about Alchemy ? πŸ˜€ I think this will be in the Dvd I prepare aside Durian about Digital Painting.

@alalo : thanks for your sympathetic comment

@Zargy : About wallpaper ; yep : explain me what you need (size / bright or dark ? ) , but about cartoon I must ask to their owner before.

@Cris Polecat : It would be only about colorizing ; as the line art I did on paper ; but I can include a part about line art with Gimp. ( gimp-painter patch 2.6 )

@Timo : thanks to notice the detail πŸ™‚

      @Jon Nordby : WAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
Incredible work Jonnor ! I test your ORA loader / saver plugin for GIMP and it worked very well. Just outstanding ; I could reopen some old works layered and play with colors curve ; close and rep-open smoothly in Mypaint.
that’s totally awesome in my production pipeline during concept art !
BIG THANKS ! I must absolutely to a post about Mypaint developpement news ; and talk about Portnov color selector / and your incredible Plugin.
      Adopted !
Note : I hope Gimp developper will include it in the 2.8 by default.
So ; I didn’t need Krita 2.x anymore πŸ˜€ bye bye all the Krita bugs !

@ChiefMcWaeffele : Thanks πŸ™‚ your last sentence make me have a blush ; that’s touching.

would be fun to include them animated at the end of the movie when the names of the crew is displayed and let them make fun stuff (Ich mein den Abspann bei Filmen).
The figures could run over the screen from left to write, drop down from letters of words, etc…

    38. Carsten Says:

      So great!

I only know few of them personally (Ton and Brecht πŸ˜‰ but if the others are so nicely on the spot I feel I know them all now.
